This for 296 was a different show that I have ever taken it in 30 odd years of rallying it.The show was organised by the Inland Water Authority , the body responsible for restoring Britains canal network. This event take place at a different place each year and this year it was the turn of the Erewash canal at the Gallows Inn Playing Fields Ilkeston and by the end of it I would place it among the top ten shows I have ever took 296 to. There was over 100 canal boats between the Gallows Inn lock and the former Stanton Ironworks lock. All this took place on the August bank holiday weekend 26th 27th &28th August.
There were a few vintage vehicles present on a couple of days, note the three buses in the background
Oh no look what turned up the STALKER!!!!!
Views of the stalls etc.
All the stalls hereto do with canal restoration.
In the distance is the Staton Ironworks lock.
That is the Gallows Inn bridge up ahead and that is the first boat moored.
That was a very well attended show, the next IWA Festival of Water will take place a on next years Augustbank holiday at St Neots in Cambridgeshire on the River Ouse and all being well I will take 296 there.
