Its two years since I used the bus for this event due to the disaster to the buses suspension failure but now its done I wasted no time in taking up the offer of using it again, and it was another success. This year the pull was from The Red Lion at Sandiacre (Derbyshire) to The Three horse Shoes Ilkeston a distance of over three miles witch included two hills a short one at Trowell and a long steep hill into Ilkeston. As usual I had someone to drive the bus for me while I got involved with taking a few photos and as the bus was last in the lin up af vehicles taking part I had to keep traffic at bay. The weather forcast fo the day was rain but it never happend. All donations collected on the pull were for Macmillan Cancer.
The engine is ready for pulling off The Red Lion car park.
The first watering hole was The Old Cross Inn Stapleford.
The man in the red shirt is Alan King one of the organisers of the event outside KRM Building Supplies Ltd Ilkeston who were one of the main sponsors.
The pullers are on Nottingham Road Ilkeston the steepest part of the route.
Making me sweat looking at them!
296 hasn't got into a sweat!
Arrival at The Three Horse Shoes we could not stay there for long as there are pretty YELLOW lines outside the pub and no where to park.
The final photo is of our conductor for the day he is a grandson of a friend of mine.
