Trent Buses Centenary Open Day 2013.
Sunday May 26th 2013.
Sunday May 26th 2013.
This was a day that I and hundreds of bus enthusiasts looked forward to for a long time and what a wonderful event it turned out to be, the weather was perfect and so were the buses
My good friend Paul Chambers was on hand marshaling the event and in my humble opinion he made a dam good job of it.
And of course I took 296 to it, for Trent Buses HQ at Langley Mill was the former HQ of Midland General and it was like a scene from the film ET for 296, if the bus had a finger it would point and say HOME! HOME!.
For the first time since I owned 296 it was doing a free bus service, the service allocated to it was Langley Mill to Derby and return witch meant that I was away from the event for a time, as I was not driving I appointed Kieth Wood from Sutton in Ashfied to drive for me as he once owned a Bristol MW Coach Former Hants and Dorset, this left me free to recreate my former job as a bus conductor, and it was very enjoyable.

An interesting thing about the last two photo's is that the workshops are in Langley Mill and a few yards away the offices are in Heanor.
The pictures following are vintage Trent, Midland General,& Barton Buses all of witch got absorbed into Trent Buses.
Below is selection of modern buses for trent/barton branded routes.
Because I was on the bus for most of the day there was other things going on at the event that I did not see but there are different sites covering the show that can be logged onto.
May I express my thanks to the management of trent/barton and Paul for a memorable day, and hope trent/barton get to a bicentenary.
