Though not a vintage event the village of Wellow could have a connection to 296, this may have come about by East Midland Bus Services taking over Mansfield District Traction, 296 was transfered to MDT in 1968. Below is a photo of East Midlands time table showing the route that went into Wellow Village, it would be nice to think that 296 was on that service sometime.
296 at its arrival at the village green.
The next few pictures are of attractions getting ready.
Those two are not maypole dancers!!
A bit of free advertising for Nottingham Area Bus Society.
The crowds are turning out because this is a very popular village event.
The Cystic Fibrosis Charity Stall a charity very very close to my heart!!
A few Minis turned out to support the show.
These four pictures show some of the dancers at the celebrations shortly before I left with the bus.
A very big thank you to the Maypole Committee for the invite and to their 2017 invite.
